1. Who we are
StatementBee (“we”, “us”) provides browser-based software that converts bank statement PDFs into spreadsheet and accounting file formats. We are the data controller for the limited personal data described below. You can reach us at support@statementbee.com.
2. How conversion works
When you select or drop a PDF, the file is read by code running in your own browser. Text extraction, transaction parsing, balance reconciliation and output file generation all happen on your device. The resulting Excel, CSV, QBO, QIF or OFX file is created locally and saved by your browser.
No copy of your statement is uploaded, transmitted, cached or stored on our infrastructure at any point. You can verify this yourself: open your browser's developer tools, switch to the Network tab, and convert a file. You will see no upload request. The conversion also works with your internet connection disabled.
3. What we collect
If you create an account, we store:
- Your email address, used to sign you in and to send service messages.
- Conversion metadata — the file name, the number of rows found, the detected bank name, whether the statement reconciled, and the date. This powers your history and your monthly allowance.
- Plan and billing status, so we know which features to unlock. Card details are handled entirely by our payment provider and never reach us.
We do not collect, receive or store:
- The contents of your statements, in whole or in part
- Individual transactions, descriptions, amounts or balances
- Account numbers, IFSC, sort or routing codes
- Your online banking credentials — we never ask you to connect a bank
4. Why we may process this data
- To provide the service — signing you in, showing your history, applying plan limits (performance of a contract).
- To take payment and meet tax and accounting obligations (contract and legal obligation).
- To keep the service working and secure — diagnosing faults, preventing abuse (legitimate interests).
5. Who we share it with
We use a small number of providers to run StatementBee. Each receives only what it needs, and none of them receives your statement contents.
- Supabase — authentication and database (email, conversion metadata, plan status).
- Paddle — payment processing and merchant of record. Paddle handles your billing details directly under its own privacy policy.
- Our hosting provider — serves the website and application code.
We do not sell personal data, and we do not use your data to train machine learning models.
6. How long we keep it
Account data is kept while your account is open. Conversion metadata is kept so your history remains useful, and is deleted when you delete your account. Billing records are retained for as long as tax law requires. Delete your account at any time by emailing us, and we will remove your data within 30 days except where we are legally required to keep it.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to complain to your data protection authority. Because we hold so little about you, most of these are quick to action — write to support@statementbee.com and we will respond within 30 days.
8. Cookies
We use cookies and local browser storage that are necessary for the service to function — keeping you signed in, and remembering how many free conversions you have used. We do not use advertising cookies or sell data to advertisers.
9. International transfers
Our providers may process data in countries other than yours. Where that happens we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as standard contractual clauses. Note again that this concerns your email and account record only — your statement contents never leave your device, so they are never transferred anywhere.
10. Children
StatementBee is a business tool and is not directed at anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
11. Changes
If we change this notice we will update the date above, and for significant changes we will notify account holders by email.
